Vioula Said is an accomplished exhibition and spatial designer who holds a Master’s degree in interior architecture from Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University school of Architecture & Design.
Over the course of the past 7 years, Vioula has specialised in exhibition design at the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa. Her architectural sensibility combined with her interest in the potential of interior spaces to evoke immersive atmospheres has led to a diverse array of projects, significantly advancing her design acumen. She has been instrumental in developing and crafting high profile art exhibitions such as Pacific Sisters: Fashion Activists and Terracotta Warriors: Guardians of Immortality as well as collaborating closely with visual and performance artists to develop and install commissioned works in Toi Art’s galleries. More recently Vioula has had the opportunity to work alongside the Waka community to support their work in developing & translating their stories into immersive experiences in the museum. She’s excited to share the stage with some of them at NDF to reflect on this mahi.
