Aurere, born and raised in Matapihi, earned a Bachelor's degree in multi-media design, with a focus on Māori Media and Communications. She is a graphic designer, photographer, and a passionate advocate for kaupapa Māori. Currently, Aurere serves as the General Manager of Te Puna i Rangiriri Trust, a Māori-owned organization specializing in kaupapa Māori projects related to waka hourua, Matariki, maurākau, and Kapa Haka. In 2022, she collaborated with Te Papa Museum as the Waka Voyaging Community Content Manager, curating content for the Digital Touchscreen Kiosk in the Manu Rere Moana Exhibition.
