Kate is involved in philanthropy both personally through Te Muka Rau, a small, co-governed philanthropic trust, and professionally as an independent consultant. She is also an associate of Tūmanako Consultants, which works with organisations who want to better support Māori aspirations.

Kate’s previous roles include Executive Director of the Todd Foundation and Chair of Philanthropy NZ.

Her background prior to working in philanthropy includes information technology and entrepreneurship, and she is the recipient of the ASB Businesswoman of the Year award and the NZ Order of Merit.

Kate lives in Wellington and she and her husband have three sons.
