Description

Unintentional injuries are a significant cause of morbidity and mortality in older ages. Injury-related care in Aotearoa New Zealand (NZ) is publicly funded by the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC), a national no-fault injury compensation scheme. Experiences of health services are an important mediator of health care engagement and access.
Objective: To explore older Māori, whānau, and stakeholder perceptions and experiences of injury-related care and ACC access for older Māori.
This presentation will focus on Koeke sovereignty and how this was evident throughout this research.
