(Te Whānau-ā-Apanui, Ngāti Porou and Kai Tahu). With Te Reo Māori as his first language, Haimona grew up in the Eastern Bay of Plenty immersed in his culture and raised within a Māori world view.

He was awarded a Masters of Psychology with distinction from Victoria University and has held roles in research for Whānau Ora and Enviroschools, rangatahi development through the Tuia Trust and his Iwi, and stakeholder engagement at the University of Waikato.

Haimona founded Tūmanako Consultants to provide cultural training, cultural reviews and cultural supervision to non-profit organisations, businesses and individuals wanting to build their understanding, explore their own cultural identity and better connect with Māori.

Haimona lives in his home rohe of Te Whānau-ā-Apanui in the Eastern Bay of Plenty with his partner and four young children.
